Reasons to Take Our Program
Our teledata technology program will give the student a diploma in teledata technology. This includes certifications from the Structured Cabling Association as a Certified Cable Installer, the Fiber Optics Association as a Certified Fiber Optics Technician, Certified Advanced Fiber Optics Technician and a Certified Fiber Optics Technician to the premise (FTXX). You will also receive your General Radio Operators license with Radar endorsement from the federal government. (GROL). The total cost for all of the above is $6,998.16. This is covered through tuition assistance and MGIB-Top-up. If you add up the individual classes from other schools it will be substantially more.
We offer students a choice of individual modules from our teledata or electronic technology program. An individual student has an option. We personally feel that many times, a single module, such as the Basic Fiber Optics module does not give the student the necessary skills to perform in the field, no matter what school you go to.
All of our individual certifications and the program include the National certification testing at no additional cost.
Each of the modules is 2-3 weeks in length. At the completion of each module and testing, the certifications are provided to the students usually within the following week.
We are also providing you with the Customer Service Certification from the Electronic Technicians Association at no additional charge.
Verizon in their FIOS (fiber-to-the-premise) program and many of the other employers are encouraging this certificate to provide the "WOW" factor to their customer.
In addition, I am the co-chairman of the National Fiber Optics Association Education and Employment Committee. This enables us to work constantly with the fiber industry. As example of this is the Fiber to the premise, Verizon alone has invested over $20 Billion dollars in Southern California and the Boston Area in converting from a copper cabling system to totally fiber network. To learn more about what is going on in the industry I would encourage you to visit the FOA website at www.thefoa.org.
In working with Jim Hayes, The President of the Fiber Optics Association, we have created one of the first Fiber-to-the-premise programs in the nation, and our graduates are very successful in passing the FTXX Certification.
All our students receive a tool kit at no additional charge that is used during the hands-on-portion of our program.
Some schools require that all students in the class must complete the program within a specific time period and then receive a voucher for a computer.
In our program students are able to retain the tool kit, books, and receive a current version of laptop, either Dell or HP, for a total cost of $150.00, if they desire. They receive the computer once they have completed three modules and their MGIB-top-up is in, usually about 6 weeks from start date. It is not dependent on what the class does; it is dependent on each individual student.
Our students in the fiber optics portion of the program in addition to theory will work with the ODTR and Fusion Splicer. Our students will be doing a total of 34 connectors of various types and additionally mechanical splices. This is substantially more than other schools.
Some of the important features of our program are:
- 1. We provide all books which are original publisher versions not copies, at no cost to the student.
- 2. All students will receive a tool kit that is either a cable/fiber kit or an electronics kit at no additional cost.
- 3. We will start our class on the scheduled date with a minimum ten students.
- 4. Although we believe that classroom presentation is the best, if you are absent we have the program on our IST (home study) program.
- 5. There are no out of pocket costs for the program.
- 6. There is no cost for the National Certifications. Our training is bench marked to industry standards.
- 7. Transfer of units is up to the receiving institution. We have had students who have received college credit at the following campuses: University of Phoenix, National University, ITT, Mira Costa College, Palomar College, and University of San Diego. We work with our graduates to assist them if this is their desire.
- 8. Navy personnel can take additional certification programs in the future.
- 9. A student may at anytime in the future refresh in any portion of the program at no cost.
- 10. If a student fails the certification testing they may refresh and retake at no additional cost.
- 11. If a student is deployed or goes on TDY or Det we can assist them.
- 12. If a student is not eligible for TA or MGIB-top-up we have alternative payment methods.
We have trained over 7,000 active-duty military personnel all over the United States, including Iraq. You are dealing with the program coordinators who have the ability to make on site decisions.
Success of any program is based on the success of their graduates in industry. We have a proud record and a lot of success stories to tell.
We are nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology which is recognized by the United States Department of Education and we have been serving the telecommunications and electronics industry since 1976.
We are happy to visit you and do a briefing for your shop.
